Jean 'Toots' Thielemans is a world-famous chromatic harmonica player. During his career, he has recorded various arrangements and composed pieces for harmonica. For decades, he has been associated with the renowned German brand Hohner. After a recent collaboration, the two masters have developed two harmonicas, one of which is the Hard Bopper. This chromatic harmonica has been designed to meet Toots' precise specifications so his style of music would be able to shine through while playing.

Toots knew exactly what he wanted with this harmonica; the jazz needed to flow from it as soon as it touched his lips. Thanks to expert craftsmanship, Hohner was able to grant this wish and make the legendary Toots Thielemans proud with a harmonica that was literally made for jazz! Hard bop, often used in more recent jazz pieces, was an extremely important movement in the development of soul jazz. Toots and Hohner have created an amazing instrument together that will surprise both you and your audience time and time again! In order to create a sound this good, the best materials are needed. Let's start with the reed plate and 48 reeds, which are made of the finest brass. There's the comb, which is crafted from brown pear wood, providing a warm tone, and optimised for an even better response. Then, we have a nickel mouthpiece and reed plates, and to top it all off, shiny chrome covers. The Hard Bopper's slide construction is straight and ultra-fast. With a Toots Thielemans Hard Bopper, you're guaranteed a clean and powerful sound, characteristic of the hard-bop jazz movement. This chromatic harmonica is only available in the key of C, and each model has a unique serial number.

Een fantastische mondharmonica dat de eer aan Toots Thielemans terecht toedoet. Ontzagelijke mogelijkheden tot improvisatie voor de meeste soorten muziek. Eerste klas materiaal.
Klinkt fantastisch! Hij is goed bespeelbaar in het laag en het hoog (door de goede luchtdichtheid) makkelijk te onderhouden. Plaatjes blijven nooit plakken (staan iets verder open als bij de mellowtone, dit maak ook dat hij iets agressiever klinkt, maar het blijft mogelijk om er ballads op te spelen.)
